Nicknamed the "Second Dragoons," the 2nd Cavalry Regiment traces to 1836 and carries the motto "Toujours Prêt" (Always Ready). Now based at Rose Barracks in Vilseck, Germany, the regiment fought at the Battle of 73 Easting during the Gulf War — one of the largest tank battles in American history.
