Japan's 1st Airborne Brigade, based at Camp Narashino, was activated in 1958 and traces its lineage to a WWII-era unit, even inheriting that unit's wartime marching song. Its motto: "The Matchless Elite, Second to None." Every New Year, Japanese and American paratroopers jump together at Narashino in a joint ceremony that's become an annual tradition.
