The 101st patch, embedded in the US Flag. The eagle — nicknamed Old Abe — actually predates the division itself, tracing to a Civil War mascot carried by an 8th Wisconsin regiment. Activated August 16, 1942, the 101st jumped into Normandy on June 6, 1944, ahead of the beach landings. Order two for a mirrored pair, facing opposite directions on each side of a vehicle.
