Nicknamed "Thunderbird," motto "Semper Anticus" (Always Forward) — the 45th Infantry Division is an Oklahoma Army National Guard unit that fought through Sicily, Anzio, and Rome-Arno in WWII, then returned to combat in Korea. Its distinctive unit insignia is one of only a few in the Army authorized to be worn as a mirror image.
