The Combat Infantry Badge, combined with the Air Assault badge. The CIB is awarded to infantry and Special Forces soldiers who personally engage in active ground combat. Air Assault is earned upon completion of the 10-day Air Assault School, qualifying soldiers in sling load operations, rappelling, and helicopter assault operations.
