The Engineer Castle is a real place — it depicts Pershing Barracks at West Point, worn informally by cadets since 1841 and formally adopted as the Corps of Engineers' insignia in 1902. General Douglas MacArthur's own personal "Gold Castles" pins are still handed down to each new Chief of Engineers today.
