Nicknamed the "Raptors," the 71st Ordnance Group traces its lineage to WWII France, earning campaign credit at Normandy, the Ardennes, and Central Europe before its EOD mission was reactivated at Fort Carson in 2005 — immediately deploying to Iraq as part of Combined Joint Task Force Troy. It's one of only two active-duty Army EOD groups, covering every EOD soldier west of the Mississippi.
